Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara had the perfect response to the quarterback inking a deal with the New York Giants Tuesday night.
Wilson’s search for a new NFL team finally came to a close Tuesday as he landed in the Big Apple following his release from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 36-year-old has reportedly agreed a $21million deal with the Giants and is projected to be the starting quarterback in New York next season.
The signal caller’s ever-supportive wife, Ciara, immediately took to social media to celebrate her NFL husband’s new deal.
The R&B singer, who has been married to Wilson since 2016, shared a past pH๏τo of the Super Bowl winner suited up in a New York Yankees’ jersey and helmet, wielding a baseball bat.
‘New York State of Mind! My greatest inspiration @dangerusswilson,’ the Grammy winner wrote underneath as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ hit ‘Empire State of Mind.’

Seven years ago, Wilson played for New York for the first time – just a different team and a different sport.
Wilson had once been a baseball prospect, twice getting drafted by MLB teams – first by the Orioles in 2007 and later the Rockies in 2010. He ultimately signed with the Rockies after he played baseball at NC State.
Wilson played two years in the Rockies’ minor league system as a second baseman and reached full-season Single-A in 2011.
However, the 10-time Pro Bowler, having been a two-sport student athlete in college, then switched his focus to football after transferring to Wisconsin in 2011.
Wilson was later taken by the Rangers in 2013 and even participated in spring training, despite then leading the Seattle Seahawks under center.
In 2018, the Rangers traded him to the Yankees for future considerations, and in March that year, Wilson got his chance to play in pinstripes, pinch-hitting for Aaron Judge in a Grapefruit League game.
Wilson is also very familiar with the Giants’ home, having won Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium with the Seahawks in 2014.
‘Been here before… can’t wait to do it again,’ Wilson wrote on X alongside a picture of MetLife after news broke of his deal.

He will now reportedly sign a one-year deal, which includes $10.5m guaranteed, with the Giants to suit up at MetLife Stadium.
The quarterback joined the Denver Broncos in 2022 before moving to the Steelers for the 2024 season. Wilson led Pittsburgh to the playoffs, where they were beaten by the Ravens. Following the end of his deal, Wilson became a free agent.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll has needed a new No 1 quarterback after another disastrous season that saw Daniel Jones get cut.
The Giants have long been expected to select a signal caller in the NFL draft. They hold the No 3 overall pick and Shedeur Sanders – son of legendary Deion Sanders – is among those to have been linked with New York.
