19-Year-Old Arrested In Connection To Shooting That Killed 16-Year-Old And His Pet Dog

John Claude Fowler Jr Hit With 4 Felony Counts in Jayden Livingston Shooting

A 19-year-old man has officially been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old high school football star and his dog over the weekend.

John Claude Fowler Jr., 19, of Winston-Salem, was taken into custody on Wednesday and slapped charged with four felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, according to court records.

Early morning hours on Saturday, just before 6 a.m., Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies rushed to a residence in the 4700 block of New Walkertown Road. That’s where they found 16-year-old Jayden Livingston and his dog both suffering from multiple gunsH๏τ wounds. Tragically, both were pronounced ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at the scene.

In a Facebook post earlier Thursday, Jayden’s father, RJ Livingston, took to social media to call out Fowler Jr., saying he treated him like a son and even included a pH๏τo with him.

“It be the people right next to you… I treated him like a son, fed him, took him in, and for what?… so he could climb in my window and kill my son.”

According to court documents, Fowler Jr. acted “knowing or having reasonable grounds to believe the dwelling was occupied at the time.” The documents further state that “the defendant fired multiple rounds, specifically four (4) sH๏τs, into said occupied dwelling while the victim (J.T.L.) was present inside.”

Fowler Jr. made his first court appearance Wednesday and is currently being held without bond.
