Aaron Rodgers reportedly spent six hours with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday and the meeting was said to be ‘positive’.
Rodgers is still on the lookout for a new team after it was confirmed that the New York Jets were moving on from the 41-year-old after two miserable years.
Former Pittsburgh quarterback Justin Fields has joined the Jets and on Friday Rodgers visited the Steelers practice facility and met with their coaching staff.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers was there for a while and talked with head coach Mike Tomlin’s staff. The two parties will now stay in touch as the quarterback weighs up his next move.
It is claimed that a deal remains some way off but this is the first time in the NFL offseason that news of Rodgers visiting a team has emerged.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the quarterback remains in ‘no rush at all’ to decide his future – despite the Vikings opting not to sign him.

Rather than pursue a deal for the 41-year-old, the Vikings are said to have decided to make J.J. McCarthy their starter next season.
That setback left Rodgers with a dwindling number of possible landing spots, with the NFL Draft on the horizon. The Steelers and New York Giants appeared his two most likely destinations.
Rodgers’ first season with the Jets was ended almost immediately by a torn Achilles. He returned for the 2024 campaign but New York missed out on the postseason after going 5-12.
Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only two quarterbacks currently listed on the Steelers’ roster.
On Thursday, however, it was reported that Steelers coach Mike Tomlin met former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe ahead of the NFL Draft.
The prospect had dinner with Tomlin, Steelers GM Omar Khan, and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth in Tuscaloosa.
Fields began the 2024 season as the Steelers’ starter before being benched in favor of Russell Wilson.
But Pittsburgh was beaten by the Ravens in the first round of the postseason and Wilson is now a free agent. He has met with the Cleveland Browns and has also been linked with the Giants.
