Chiefs star Hollywood Brown sends ominous message to NFL rivals after returning to Kansas City on $11m deal

Chiefs receiver Hollywood Brown has warned Kansas City’s NFL rivals that they will be back with a vengeance next season following Super Bowl heartbreak.

Brown has re-signed with the Chiefs in another deal worth up to $11million, claiming he and the team have ‘unfinished business’ after they fell short of a historic three-peat.

The receiver suffered an injury-interrupted first campaign in Kansas City. But after signing a one-year extension with the Chiefs, he claimed: ‘I do feel like we could do something that’s never been done before.’

Brown’s contract is reportedly the same as last season – $6.5million guaranteed, with another $4.5m available in incentives.

He initially signed a one-year deal after leaving the Cardinals but on Thursday Brown said: ‘I knew all along I wanted to be back… they voiced their opinions of wanting me back. We had some unfinished business.’

He continued: ‘It felt like, for the first time in my career, I was getting where I wanted to be every day coming to work, getting better and getting better… so I knew that was the place and environment I wanted to stay in.’

Brown agreed to the new deal on March 8, just before the start of free agency. ‘I just know the impression that I left (with coaches and teammates) is something that I want to show the whole Chiefs Kingdom and really show what I can do,’ he explained.

Brown spoke to quarterback Patrick Mahomes and other Chiefs teammates, who helped lure him back to Kansas City.

‘That’s my guy,’ Brown said of Mahomes. ‘We talked about me being here, so definitely, we had to make (a new contract) happen. And I’m glad we did.’

He continued: ‘Everyone was just always (saying): “We’re gonna be back next year. We’re gonna do it right next year…”

‘Even before I got cleared to even come back, I could feel people wanted me around. And so that was good for me while I was rehabbing, kept me always in good spirits.’

Brown will link up with Xavier Worthy – who scored two Super Bowl touchdowns at the end of his rookie season – and Rashee Rice, who missed most of the 2024 season with a knee injury.

‘Those are my guys. The sky’s the limit,’ Brown said. ‘We’re trying to push each other to be the best, because ultimately, I do feel like we could do something that’s never been done before.’
