Jason and Travis Kelce make shock claim about NFL snitches spilling team secrets

Jason and Travis Kelce have revealed how NFL stars frequently spill their old team’s biggest secrets in a bid to help the new organization they’re playing for.

During the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, the Kelce brothers read out a question from a fan which asked if players give away their former employers’ strategies and game plans after joining a new team.

Both Jason and Travis confirmed it is absolutely common practice for that to happen when a new signing comes through the door, explaining how they often snitch on their ex-teams if they are ever tasked with facing them.

‘I can tell you that everyone does this and this is absolutely something that happens in the NFL,’ Jason insisted. ‘Actually a lot of times you will see teams sign practice squad players one to two weeks before they play an opponent is for this very reason.

‘They want to get code words, they want to get information on no-huddle plays, coverage signals. There’s always information that they’re trying to get out of players that have been in other organizations.’

Travis then added: ‘You’re gonna do whatever you have to do to win in your current situation, and if that’s finding a tic here and there from your previous situation and helping out your teammates in that regard… you’re going to f***ing do it man.

‘If you hand over the entire playbook, I think that’s a little weird. But if you’re just talking ball and you’re trying to give your guys a heads-up on an audible or something like that, I think that’s all fair game.’

The Kelce brothers have never had the chance to snitch on an ex-team themselves after only ever playing for one NFL franchise in their respective careers.

Jason spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring at the end of the 2023 season, while Travis is heading back for a 13th season of his own with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025 after opting not to retire after last month’s Super Bowl thrashing against his older brother’s former team.

Reports suggest his popstar-girlfriend Taylor Swift urged him to play on when he weighed up retirement after that crushing defeat to the Eagles.

The 35-year-old тιԍнт end looked like a man ready to call it quits after his team’s three-peat dreams were left in ruins by the 40-22 loss in New Orleans.

However, Kelce eventually decided that he would play on for another season with the Chiefs, thanks in no small part to the influence of Swift.

‘She didn’t want Travis to retire,’ a source was quoted as telling Page Six. ‘She wanted him to go out on a high note.’

The publication added that Kelce and Swift made the decision ‘as a couple’ during talks about what the future holds for the pair of them.

At 35, Kelce is unquestionably in the twilight of his career and they questioned if he will still be able to handle the physical demands of another season, at the least, in the NFL.

‘He has to be able to physically do it,’ the insider added, with the publication also saying the final call was Kelce’s own.

Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Chiefs, said earlier this week that he urged Kelce not to end his career with a loss on the biggest stage.

‘I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, I’m 95 percent of the reason he ain’t retiring,’ Rice told REVOLT Sports. ‘Told him he can’t go out like that. I’m gonna make sure we get that next year. He was finna hang it up. I’m pretty sure he was gonna hang it up. And I’m like, “Bro, we can’t go out like that.”‘

‘I texted him. He basically was like, “Bro, I really appreciate that.” He’s like, “You really got me thinking about it. I really appreciate you reaching out to me.” And then I seen it pop up on the media. I said, “All right now,”‘ he concluded, imitating Kelce’s catchphrase.
