NFL's $330m superstar Josh Allen snaps back at reporter after bizarre question about Hailee Steinfeld's ring

NFL superstar Josh Allen has no regrets over his choice of engagement ring for fiancée Hailee Steinfeld.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback has had much to celebrate over the past few months, first popping the question to the Marvel actress in a beautiful proposal last November.

The 28-year-old followed up the extravagant engagement by being crowned MVP at the NFL’s end-of-season honors in February before being rewarded for his award-winning season by the Bills last week.

Buffalo handed its franchise quarterback a historic new six-year, $330million contract over the weekend, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league.

However, despite his overflowing wealth, Allen has no plans to upgrade the rock he proposed to Steinfeld with.

Allen was asked whether he had ‘earmarked’ any of his new contract money for his upcoming nuptials during a livestream with 7 News WKBW earlier this week.

‘Maybe a bigger ring with the wedding coming up?,’ a reporter asked.

Allen awkwardly chuckled at the question before clarifying: ‘A bigger ring you said?’

‘Uh, nah, I think she likes the one she’s got,’ he then bluntly responded.

The couple were first spotted together in May 2023, shortly after Allen split from longtime girlfriend Brittany Williams.

Steinfeld, who enjoyed her breakthrough with an Oscar-nominated performance in True Grit, was seen alongside the quarterback in New York City.

They have since spent time in Mexico and at Paris Fashion Week but Allen and Steinfeld have – for the most part – kept their romance under wraps.

‘The fact that anybody cares about that still blows my mind,’ the Bills quarterback said last year in response to questions about their relationship.

Allen and Steinfeld – who have been tipped to be the NFL’s next power couple set to rival Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift – made their red carpet debut together at February’s NFL honors, three months after announcing their engagement.

While the couple have not publicly released a date for their wedding, Allen recently celebrated his Bachelor party with with teammate Dalton Kincaid, fellow signal caller Sam Darnold and others at Tiger Woods’ TGL match.

The NFL stars and golf aficionados were among several celebrities at Woods’ season finale on the virtual tour in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where singer Celine Dion and seven-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens were also on hand.

Allen’s group of friends were heard chanting from the upper seating of the indoor golf venue before going back stage and exchanging pleasantries with Woods.

With his new contract, Allen will earn at least an eye-watering $250m of his deal – the largest guaranteed money ever given to an NFL player.

Allen was drafted No 7 overall by the Bills in 2018 and has played his entire career in Buffalo. By the end of his new contract in 2030, he will be 34 years old.

Allen still had four years left on his previous contract, but has now been rewarded with a bumper deal after the best season of his career so far.

Prior to Allen’s $250m guaranteed, the NFL record was held by Deshaun Watson, the disgraced Cleveland Browns QB who signed a deal with a guaranteed $230m included.
