The mystery of the top secret room in the Great Pyramid of Egypt

Scientists have discovered a large empty room the size of an airplane in the heart of the Great Pyramid of Giza. This shocking discovery will be the beginning of solving many unsolved problems for many years.

Scientists have discovered a giant chamber hidden inside the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. This is also one of the 7 oldest wonders of the ancient world . The chamber or secret room is located above the grand gallery. An ascending corridor connects the “King’s chamber” and the “Queen’s chamber”. This is the first major structure found in the pyramid since the 19th century. It can be said that this shocking discovery will be the beginning of solving many unexplored secret knots. For the past 4,500 years, no one knew about the existence of this cavity.

Scientists have yet to determine the exact structure and function of the newly discovered chamber. But the new discovery does give the team a better understanding of the pyramid’s internal structure. It’s unclear what structural role it plays inside, but measurements show the chamber is roughly the size of the Great Gallery: at least 30 meters long, 8 meters high, and more than 1 meter wide.

The ScanPyramids team uses particle physics to scan the interior of the structure without damaging it. “We have not yet determined whether the room is made up of one or several structures,” said Mehdi Tayoubi, co-founder of the ScanPyramids project and president of the Insтιтute for Heritage Innovation and Conservation. “But the room is definitely impressive. It could be a chamber or a lot of things.”

Professor Kunihiro Morishima from Nagoya University in Japan emphasized: “No one has known about this empty room since the time the pyramid was built 4,500 years ago. The space is closed, meaning no one has had contact with this place.”

The pyramid of Cheops is known to have been looted many times before scientists began to excavate it. In the known areas, there are currently no remaining relics. “Therefore, the newly discovered cavity is very interesting, although no one has yet determined what is inside it,” Professor Morishima said.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khufu or the Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the oldest and only structures still existing among the 7 wonders of the ancient world. Scientists believe that the Great Pyramid was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu of the 4th dynasty of ancient Egypt, hence its name. The Grand Vizier of Pharaoh Khufu, Hemon, is believed to be the architect of this great structure.

The building was originally 147m high. But over time and natural erosion, today the building is only 139m high. For decades, the specific construction and the entire internal structure of the building have remained a question for scientists.
