Chiefs bringing back Marquise Brown on one-year, $11 million contract

The Chiefs are bringing back Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

The veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal worth up to $11 million to return to Kansas City in 2025, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brown, 27, played in just two regular season games for the Chiefs last season after suffering a sternoclavicular injury during the preseason, catching nine pᴀsses for 91 yards in those appearances.

In three playoff games, Brown had five receptions for 50 yards.

The Oklahoma product was drafted No. 25 overall in 2019 by the Ravens, spending his first three NFL seasons in Baltimore.

Brown had the best season of his career in 2021 with 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.

After that season, Brown was dealt to the Cardinals, where he spent two years.

The new Brown contract comes on the same day the Chiefs got bad news about fellow receiver Xavier Worthy.

The second-year pᴀss-catcher was reportedly arrested Friday night and charged with ᴀssault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation.

Kansas City will also be hoping for a bounce-back season from receiver Rashee Rice, who suffered a knee injury in Week 4 and missed the rest of the year.

Even after the Brown signing, the Chiefs’ wide receiver room is suddenly looking thin with DeAndre Hopkins, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman set for free agency.
