Kirk Cousins visits Trump at White House with Falcons future uncertain

Kirk Cousins became the latest NFL player to visit President Trump.

The Falcons quarterback took a picture with Trump in the Oval Office on Friday, part of a trip back to Washington, D.C. — where he previously spent six seasons with the now-Commanders.

“#18 🤝 #47,” special ᴀssistant to the president and communications adviser Margo Martin captioned a post on X with the image, referencing Cousins’ jersey number and Trump being the 47th president.

Last week, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker spent time with Trump in the White House.

Cousins’ future with the Falcons is uncertain, just one year after signing a four-year, $180 million deal.

He was benched last season and replaced by Michael Penix Jr., whom the Falcons drafted with the No. 8 pick last year.

And Cousins, 36, recently met with Falcons owner Arthur Blank, according to Sports Illustrated, and expressed his desire to go to a team where he can start.

Falcons brᴀss reportedly said it would do what is best for the team, and NFL Network later reported that the Falcons don’t have plans to cut Cousins.

In 14 games last year, Cousins threw for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, with the Falcons owning a 7-7 record before he was benched.

Penix went 1-2 in his three games as starter, throwing for 737 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in that span.

Cousins and his wife, Julie, also went back to the spot they got engaged during their trip to the nation’s capital.

“Julie and I decided to take a trip to DC to travel down memory lane… Revisited the “Front Porch of America” where we got engaged 11 years ago,” Cousins captioned an Instagram post. “Special spot for our family!
