Dion Dawkins slams Chiefs for abysmal Super Bowl dud, claims Bills ‘would’ve had a better chance’

After delivering what feels like a yearly heartbreak for the Bills, the Chiefs played worse than ever imaginable against the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Kansas City put up essentially zero fight against Philadelphia.

The Bills were just a few plays away from making a Super Bowl appearance in the Chiefs’ place, and the AFC’s runner-ups believe they could have fared much better against the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.

“We would’ve put on a better show in the Super Bowl,” Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said on Ryan Clark’s “The Pivot Podcast.”

The eight-year veteran Dawkins has been with the Bills his entire career — so he’s now had his fair share of devastating playoff losses, especially against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Even still, he said he was accepting of taking the loss and moving forward onto next season.

That was until he saw, in person, Kansas City’s abysmal showing on the biggest stage.

“Now, after going to the Super Bowl and seeing it and feeling those emotions,” Dawkins said, “not to say that we would’ve just went in there and beat the Eagles, we would’ve had a chance. We would’ve had a better chance.”

Dawkins, a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Temple, has experienced a lot of winning in his eight years with the Bills, having only missed the playoffs once during his entire tenure.

Despite all the consistent success, Buffalo just hasn’t been able to get over the hump in terms of making it to the Super Bowl.

The Bills have now made the playoffs for six straight seasons and have been eliminated by the Chiefs in four of the last five.

Two of the eliminations from Kansas City came in the AFC Championship Game, and three of the four were one-score losses.
