The Jets’ new bosses are about to step into the spotlight.
With free agency beginning Monday when the negotiating window opens at noon, we’ll start to see new coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey putting their fingerprints on the roster.
It’s difficult to predict what moves they’ll make when we don’t have a track record for them in these jobs. Over time, you get a sense for how GMs and head coaches operate, but this year, it feels like we don’t know much about the Jets’ plans.
One thing I wanted to do at the NFL draft scouting combine was hear from people who have worked with both men about what the Jets were getting. Glenn is much more of a known commodity than Mougey, whose work was largely behind the scenes with the Broncos. Those who worked with Mougey in Denver have praised him as a smart individual who asks a lot of the right questions.
