Pat McAfee has been blasted by Boston-area sports radio host Fred Toucher, who claims fans of the ESPN and WWE personality are ‘idiots’ for listening to him.

McAfee has had a quick rise in broadcasting since his NFL career ended, with his namesake show airing on ESPN every weekday. 

Toucher claims McAfee is a phony for projecting a cutting-edge atтιтude while working for corporate ownership. 

‘Pat McAfee sucks. And if you listen to him, you’re an idiot. You really might be an idiot. And the best is, you don’t get it. “Oh I get it.” He works for Disney,’ Toucher said. ‘This isn’t some guy on pirate radio here changing the way the game’s played. 

‘I guess I get that he can say the s-word, and that’s tremendous. It’s very exciting. I could hear that from any kid, But I can hear it from Pat McAfee. Once you work for the Disney company, any cool, rebellious factor that you might be hanging on to is long gone.’

‘You are in a long, corporate game. You are a peg in the cog. I am jealous about how he leveraged garbage views on YouTube into a really lucrative TV gig. That I am jealous of because, again, if I was running ESPN, I’d go, “What is everyone talking about? Oh, his Aaron Rodgers interviews.”‘

‘I think he was brilliant to pay Aaron Rodgers a million dollars a year to do his show because that’s the only thing people talked about.’ 

McAfee has not responded to Toucher’s comments and it is unclear whether he will use his platform to address someone who does not have the reach he does. 

McAfee’s fans have done his bidding for him, calling out Toucher for being jealous of what the former NFL punter has been able to accomplish. 

‘Fred is a jealous douche because he knows that if he went from radio to internet streaming he’d get less than 1000 viewers which is not even 10% what Pat got on YouTube. Time to retire, ya bag of bones,’ one person said. 

‘McAfee must be hiding under his bedroom covers after this “rant” from some dude named Toucher that 99.236% of the country has never heard of,’ another McAfee supporter said on X. 

Toucher is a longtime host for Boston station WBZ.
