NFL reporters feud over Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford’s ski trip meeting

Two NFL insiders got into a source-off on Wednesday over conflicting reports about a run-in between Raiders minority owner Tom Brady and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Both reports said the two met at a ski resort in Montana recently, but depending on who you ask, the meeting was either a pure coincidence or was planned.

Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz initially reported that Stafford and Brady met at the former’s Montana home, “where they spent time together and went skiing.

“Brady has been actively trying to convince Stafford to join the Raiders, and discussions are ongoing,” Schultz wrote on X.

Roughly 30 minutes later, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport posted about the news, but described it as the two having “ran into each other” at a ski resort and that the meeting had been “unplanned,” and the conversation “was not extensive or in-depth.”

Rapoport also indicated that there was no recruiting effort and that Brady didn’t host Stafford, “despite reports saying otherwise.”

That comment seemed to irk Schultz, who penned a follow-up post on X, seemingly taking a sH๏τ at the ᴀssertion that the Stafford-Brady meeting happened to be a coincidence.

“If you really think Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford just happened to run into each other at a ski resort in Montana — of all places — at the exact same time, I’ve got a bridge to sell you,” he wrote.

“They were together over the weekend — it happened. Multiple teams are interested in Stafford, and Brady has been leading the charge to get him to the Raiders if the Rams decide to trade him.”

Stafford’s future with the Rams is up in the air, and the QB’s camp has been given permission to speak with other teams about contract numbers.

Stafford is due a $26 million salary in 2025 but is reportedly seeking $50 million a year.

A source told The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy that the Giants and Stafford’s reps met Tuesday during the combine in Indianapolis.
