NFL sideline reporter Charissa Thompson revealed her true thoughts about Fox Sports after revealing that her contract with the network expired at the end of the 2024 season.

Thompson had been on the sidelines with Fox for years and recently took on the role of the host for the pre-game and post-game shows for Amazon Prime’s NFL coverage.

But news about her departure from the company wasn’t exactly well-known until Thompson spoke about it on a recent installment of her ‘Calm Down’ podcast.

She revealed that she got an amazing sendoff from her former colleagues as she now examines her future options.

‘I just have to say one thing — and this is also what I am going on and on about Fox, and I swear, I mean it’s not just because my contract’s up — I love Fox so much because my brother and my dad came to the Super Bowl, and Fox is family to me, so my own family like sharing in those moments,’ Thompson told her co-host and fellow Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews.

‘It was so fun, and Fox just makes them feel so welcome and makes sure they’re included in the events and everything.

‘So I just would be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful my extended work family is to my own family.’

Both Thompson and Andrews worked for Fox’s NFL coverage in the 2024 season – including the network’s airing of Super Bowl LIX.

The 42-year-old Thompson has spoken lovingly about her Fox co-workers with Andrews on the podcast in the past. 

Thompson generated headlines and criticism in 2023 when she claimed that she ‘made up a report’ while working on the sidelines earlier in her career.

She addressed those words, saying, ‘In the absence of a coach providing any information that could further my report I would use information that I learned and saw during the first half to create my report,’ Thompson wrote in part before providing an example.

‘If a team was 0 for 7 on 3rd down, that would clearly be an area they need to improve in the second half. In these instances I never attributed anything I said to a player or coach,’ she wrote.
