Jason Kelce believes Travis already ‘knows’ if he’ll retire from NFL or not

Jason Kelce believes his brother has already made his retirement decision.

During an upcoming appearance on “The Steam Room” podcast with Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson, the former Eagles center said his younger brother’s mind is already made up about his playing future.

“I think Travis, I think he probably, in his heart, already knows what he wants to do,” Kelce said. “That’s the reality of it.”

Retirement rumors have been swirling around the Chiefs star since Kansas City was blown out by the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025 earlier this month.

He had one of the worst Super Bowl performances of his career during the contest, tallying just four receptions for 39 yards and zero touchdowns.

In the days after the Super Bowl loss, Kelce, 35, went on his “New Heights” podcast with Jason to vent about the loss.

“Just wasn’t our day,” Kelce said on last Wednesday’s installment of his podcast. “Couldn’t find a lick of momentum. I’m kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field.

“I wasn’t the best that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys calm, cool and collected and I put a lot of that on myself, you know, as the guy that’s been in the building for 12 years and seen a lot of football and seen a situation just like this, in the Super Bowl.”

On Wednesday, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Kelce, 35, was “leaning toward playing” next season, although it wasn’t a sure thing.

Earlier this month, The Athletic reported that the Chiefs want their тιԍнт end to inform them of his retirement decision by around March 14, before the new league year begins and free agency signing period opens.

Kelce is due a $12.5 million roster bonus on March 15 and is under contract with the Chiefs for one more season.
