Fans troll ESPN anchor Scott Van Pelt over his shocking NFL season predictions

Sports Center host Scott Van Pelt had fans face-palming online after reviewing his mostly wrong predictions for this past NFL season.

After the Philadelphia Eagles were crowned the kings of the NFL for dethroning the Kansas City Chiefs, Stanford Steve and Van Pelt went through the latter’s pre-season predictions.

With SVP getting 80 percent of his forecast incorrect, fans were equally disappointed about his wrongness and impressed by his ability to face it on air.

‘This is why these guys shouldn’t make what they make,’ one user suggested. ‘Just talking heads who try to convince us they know what they are talking about. Hint, they don’t. And it’s not even entertaining anymore.

‘Accountability in the country is key,’ a second added.

‘How does this man have that job? Does he even know what hes talking about at all?’ wrote a third.

Before the NFL season began, @notthefakeSVP made his predictions on how the season would unfold 🔮 Let’s check in and see if any came true 🤔 pic.twitter.com/JrISaQZBJl

‘So how does @ESPN plan to discipline SVP for being so wrong in 8/10 of his predictions? Most people don’t have the luxury of being wrong 80% of the time in their profession,’ a fourth chimed in.

‘One of the Stupidest man on green Earth,’ commented a fifth. ‘ESPN is full of clowns !!!!’

Among Van Pelt’s wrong predictions were the Falcons winning the AFC South, but Atlanta finished second in the division.

He also predicted that Brock Purdy would have the most touchdown pᴀsses in the NFL before the 49ers’ disastrous season. Purdy ended up 16th in the statistic as San Francisco missed the playoffs.

Another quarterback prediction gone wrong was for Jaguars star Trevor Lawrence to surpᴀss 4,113 pᴀssing yards by more than 250. The Clemson product clocked in 2,045 yards in just 10 appearances this past season.

Like many, Van Pelt predicted the Detroit Lions would get home-field advantage in the playoffs and appear in the Super Bowl, which he Parlayed with Lamar Jackson leading the Ravens to the Lombardi trophy.

The only predictions the seasoned host nailed are at least two rookies receiving more than 1,000 yards without topping Puka Nacua’s 1,486 and for the Browns and Dolphins to miss the postseason.
