Jacksonville Jaguars' verdict on trading quarterback Trevor Lawrence revealed amid Pittsburgh Steelers link

The Jacksonville Jaguars have no intention of trading quarterback Trevor Lawrence amid reports of interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ryan Burr of the Big 10 network clamed he was told about the Steelers’ interest in Lawrence ‘from the horse’s mouth in Jags organization’ on Thursday.

But now, according to ESPN reporter Michael DiRocco, the Jaguars have no desire to part ways with their No. 1 quarterback.

Taking to X, DiRocco wrote: ‘Regarding recent report that Steelers have inquired about a trade for Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, a Jaguars source said there’s “no chance” they’ll trade Lawrence and called the idea “ridiculous.”‘

DiRocco then claimed that the Steelers never even asked about Lawrence, adding: ‘Circling back, Jaguars source said no conversation with the Steelers regarding a potential trade for Trevor Lawrence took place.’

Burr has been insistent that the call about Lawrence took place, though.

He responded to multiple followers on X after his post, and stood by his story.

‘Steelers 100% called Jags about Lawerence (sic). Jacksonville’s response could have been zero interest, conversation was had,’ he said one post.

In response to one user, after he had speculated over which draft picks the Steelers would part with for Lawrence, he said: ‘I speculated what it might take, also saying I DIDNT THINK Steelers wanted to part with 2026 pick with draft in Pittsburgh. The call happened.’

When Jaguars coach Liam Coen was unveiled as the team’s new head coach, he underlined his plans that involved Lawrence as the main man.

‘This will all be about Trevor,’ he said. ‘How do we make Trevor Lawrence and this offense as dynamic and explosive as we can be? We have got build it around him.

‘I cannot respect his toughness and mentality and his work ethic more than I do already.’
