Taylor Swift getting booed at the Super Bowl was 'lame', insists golf influencer Paige Spiranac

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has sounded off on Taylor Swift getting booed at the Super Bowl, calling the choice ‘lame’ by NFL fans attending the championship game in New Orleans.

Swift was at the game to watch her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and her presence at his games has drawn mᴀssive interest from her fans.

Safe to say those belting out ‘Anti-Hero’ on her Eras Tour watched the game at home, as the overwhelming majority of fans inside the Caesars Superdome supported Philadelphia.

Swift grew up in West Reading, Pennsylvania, about 63 miles northwest of Philadephia, but still got heavily booed by the Super Bowl 2025 crowd when showed on the jumbotron due to her romance with one of the Chiefs’ best players placing her in the enemy camp.

Spiranac, who was also at the game on Sunday, blasted the decision from Eagles fans.

‘It was reported that the NFL’s brand value has increased almost 1billion dollars since Taylor Swift started dating Kelce,’ Spiranac said on X. ‘The NFL is using her popularity to boost their brand. So booing Taylor Swift is lame. She was just showing up to support her significant other. The amount of times she’s shown at a game or posted on social media is out of her control.’

One fan responded to Spiranac, criticizing her comment, and saying that fans do not care about how much money Swift is making the league.

‘That wasn’t my point,’ Spiranac responded. ‘People complain because she’s shown all the time. She’s shown because it helps the NFL brand. It’s not her asking for the exposure. But also more money the NFL brings in the better the product will be for the fans. None of it makes sense.’

Swift was shown much more during the 2023 NFL season, when her attendance was fresher to the league’s audience.

Throughout this season, Swift’s presence was still felt despite her having less television time. During the Super Bowl broadcast, she was shown twice – once before the game, and one time during in lieu of the Chiefs’ struggles.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 at the Super Bowl, marking the first loss for Kansas City with Swift in attendance since Christmas Day in 2023. Kelce’s squad had won 14 in a row with his girlfriend in the crowd.
