Little Man is a 2006 American comedy film directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, co-written and co-produced by Marlon and Shawn Wayans. The film follows Calvin “Babyface” Simms, a short convicted jewel thief, who hides the proceeds of his latest robbery and pretends to be a large baby to retrieve it. After being released from prison, Calvin meets his cohort Percy, who tells him about a job involving stealing a valuable diamond ordered by a mobster named Mr. Walken.
After the successful robbery, they are almost arrested by the police, but Calvin manages to stash the diamond in the purse of a woman. They follow the handbag’s owner to her home, where they discover a couple, Darryl and Vanessa Edwards, who are eager to have a child. Calvin and Percy hatch a plot to pแดss him off as a baby to retrieve the diamond. However, Vanessa’s dad Francis and friends find Calvin strange, and he starts to like having a family. Walken demands the diamond from Percy, who tries to recover him by posing as his father but is thrown out by Darryl. Walken’s men witness this altercation and believe Darryl is Calvin.
Darryl and Vanessa adopt Calvin, but Pops discovers Calvin’s secret and clashes with him. Pops sends Darryl to a retirement home, but he tells him to check the teddy bear, which turns out to be a nanny cam. Calvin admits to his deception, and Walken and his henchmen arrive to rescue Darryl. Calvin saves his life and gives him a substantial reward for the diamond recovery. Darryl doesn’t turn him over to the police.
Calvin thanks Darryl for taking care of him and admits that he thinks Darryl would make a great father for a real child. As Calvin leaves, he cries, knowing he will miss the family. Darryl decides to let Calvin stay, and the two men become best friends. The film ends with Calvin and Pops playing with Darryl and Vanessa’s real baby, who looks exactly like Darryl.
