Dan Orlovsky crushes Andy Reid for ‘outclassed’ Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2025 debacle

Dan Orlovsky didn’t hold back on his ᴀssessment of Andy Reid’s coaching job and the Chiefs’ effort while getting routed by the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

The ESPN analyst, who hinted at an exit from the company, gave his blunt take during an appearance on “Get Up” Monday morning after the Eagles’ convincing 40-22 win in Super Bowl 2025 at the Superdome in New Orleans.

The game saw the unrelenting Eagles defense – which Orlovsky compared to the Seahawks legendary Legion of Boom in its low-blitz plan of attack – manhandle the Chiefs up front.

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was sacked six times – the most in his career – without seeing a single blitz.

He also threw two interceptions, one a pick-six by rookie Cooper DeJean that gave Philadelphia a 17-0 lead in the second quarter.

“They’re not trying to confuse me,” Orlovsky said of how he’d ᴀssess things as a playcaller. “They are just physically whopping me.”

Then he went after Reid, who has already won three Super Bowls with Kansas City and reached another with the Eagles.

“When I look at my notes, I said, ‘This is the worst performance I’ve ever seen from an Andy Reid-coached football team’,” Orlovsky said. “Outclassed. Out-physical-ed. There was so much drop-back pᴀss, little protection help, little to no play-action.”

Orlovsky then questioned if the Chiefs were so rattled that they had little interest in putting up a fight even as they were going a historic three-peat.

“Low energy,” Orlovsky added to his notes. “It was 17-0 and I remember going to Louis (Reddick) and going, ‘They’re walking everywhere. It almost felt like they made them say, ‘No mas. We’re good’”

The Chiefs never did make it a game as Mahomes threw another interception and trailed 24-0 at the half, before scoring 22 points after the break.

Reid and the Chief will have to go back to the drawing board as they regroup and try to make a run at a fourth Super Bowl championship – maybe without Travis Kelce as retirement rumors swirl around the star тιԍнт end.

“[We] couldn’t get it going offensively,” Kelce said. “I mean they just got after us on all three phases and then on top of that, you know, turnovers, penalties, playing behind the sticks on offense.”

“We just couldn’t find that spark,” he added. “We couldn’t find that momentum.”
