Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky hinted that his future with the network is up in the air during an emotional goodbye to football coverage on Monday.
Orlovsky, who has been with ESPN since 2017, has been a featured part of NFL broadcasts and talk shows across the network since his playing days ended.
No sweeping changes for Orlovsky were publicly expected. However, ESPN typically does everything in its power to sign the best on-air talent with a good example of Jason Kelce’s hiring and the former offensive lineman taking over the roles of Robert Griffin III.
Orlovsky’s role will be minimal during the offseason, as there are no games to analyze. The offseason relies more of the Adam Schefter and Mel Kiper Jr. types to break down team’s personnel moves and draft picks.
‘You guys know this is the end of the season for me, certainly for [Ryan Clark] as well,’ Orlovsky said on ‘First Take’. ‘I’m taking a break, won’t be on TV for a long time. Just want to say thank you to you guys – Stephen A, Mol[ly Qerim], Shannon [Sharpe] for a great season.’
‘Love being with you guys, love y’all. Never know what the future holds but I’m taking a break, I’m sure RC is as well. Just want to say thank you. Appreciate you guys so much.’

Orlovsky’s deal with ESPN expires this summer, per FOS.
Orlovsky has endeared himself to ESPN’s fans over the last several years, while having quirks that have stood out from his peers.

The former Detroit Lion has been accused of farting live on-air twice, once during a live game broadcast, and the other as a guest on Pat McAfee’s show.
Last month, Orlovsky might have invented a new way to eat a Reese’s Peanut ʙuттer Cup, disgusting Clark, who posted the video to social media.
The candy that combines chocolate and peanut ʙuттer into one delectable bite had half of the ingredients appeal to Orlovsky.
Orlovsky was filmed by Clark biting the chocolate parts off the treat and spitting them back into the wrapper that held it prior to consumption.
Orlovsky then eats the clump of peanut ʙuттer that was surrounded by chocolate like it’s not big deal.
