NFL legend Terry Bradshaw has issued a groveling apology to Andy Reid for a cruel joke he made at the Kansas City Chiefs coach’s expense at the Super Bowl in 2023.
Reid and the Chiefs had just won their second Super Bowl together, having beaten Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles in Arizona 38-35.
Bradshaw was carrying out his traditional duties hosting Fox’s Vince Lombardi trophy presentation on the field when he told Reid to ‘waddle on over here’.
The 76-year-old former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback then concluded the interview by telling Reid to ‘have a cheeseburger on us’.
As the Chiefs and Eagles prepare to battle again next week in New Orleans, Bradshaw has now apologized to Reid for the comments. He will once again be handing over the trophy to the winning team in Louisiana.
Bradshaw told People: ‘Oh. Oh, I am the worst there is. So the very next day I called Andy and said, “Wow, I am so sorry. I had no idea I’d create such a storm”.

‘He was laughing. But that’s how it is. Fans are very protective of their football team.
‘I’m an outsider, so therefore I don’t have a right to say that, and I get it. I won’t make that mistake this time.’
It comes after NFL fans called for Bradshaw to retire from broadcasting last week after sparking concern with his latest appearance on Fox.
Bradshaw was part of the Fox team for last week’s NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Commanders in Philadelphia, where he was joined on the panel by the likes of Rob Gronkowski, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson.
Yet while previewing the game at Lincoln Financial Field, Bradshaw left fans worried after appearing to slur his words and making a strange comment about Washington head coach Dan Quinn.
Several users were quick to point out how Bradshaw, who has suffered a number of on-air blunders in recent years, claimed that Quinn coached at Super Bowl 16 while on air – despite that game taking place when he was just 11 years old in 1982.
The bizarre comment and perceived ‘slurring’ has convinced fans once more that it is time for him to retire, urging Fox to bring his long broadcasting career to an end.
‘Watching the FOX NFL pregame show for the first time and why hasn’t Terry Bradshaw been escorted off set by force,’ one user asked on X.
