Brian Shaffer: The Medical Student Who Vanished from an Ohio Bar in 2006 – Cameras and Witnesses Still Offer No Explanation 20 Years Later

On the night of March 31–April 1, 2006, 27-year-old Ohio State University medical student Brian Shaffer celebrated the end of midterms with friends at the Ugly Tuna Saloona in Columbus. He never made it home. A former detective interviewed in April 2026 told Criminally Obsessed that he believes “people of interest” knew Brian personally and may be hesitant to come forward.
