Philadelphia Eagles bring in secret weapon to prepare to tackle Travis Kelce in Super Bowl against Chiefs

The Philadelphia Eagles have called in a legend to help them prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

The Eagles will be out for revenge on February 9 when they face Travis Kelce and the Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII – which Philadelphia lost 38-35 – down in New Orleans.

And Philadelphia has brought in a secret weapon to equip them to tackle three-time Super Bowl winner Kelce in particular.

Nick Sirianni’s team has employed the help of former тιԍнт end Brent Celek, according to reports.

Eagles beat reporter Jeff McLane reported Friday that safeties Reed Blankenship and C.J. Gardner-Johnson were spotted getting in some reps against the retired тιԍнт end.

Kelce, of course, plays тιԍнт end for the reigning champions and it appears the Eagles hope that the safeties’ practice against a former stalwart in the same position will better prepare them to take on the Chiefs star.

Celek spent his entire 11-year career in Philadelphia before hanging up his cleats in 2018.

He bowed out of the league as a Super Bowl champion, having helped the Eagles to lift the Lombardi Trophy in the 2017 season, alongside Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce.

The training tactic comes after Blankenship and Gardner-Johnson struggled against Zach Ertz, another former Eagles тιԍнт end, during the NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders.

Ertz, who signed with the Commanders last year, led all receivers with 104 yards on 11 receptions for Washington.

While Ertz’s display didn’t rain on the Eagles’ parade, Philadelphia is clearly taking no chances against Kelce.

Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and co. are on the hunt for a historic Super Bowl three-peat down in the Big Easy.
