Huge Eagles fan Kylie Kelce praises brother-in-law Travis before Super Bowl and reveals if she'll cheer Chiefs

Kylie Kelce is ‘proud’ of her brother-in-law Travis ahead of his third successive Super Bowl appearance with the Chiefs – but she can’t quite bring herself to root for Kansas City.

Kylie, the wife of former Eagles star Jason and a lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area, admitted it was ‘hard’ juggling her rooting interests as Super Bowl LIX approaches next week.

Nonetheless, the mom-of-three is expecting to be in the stands in New Orleans, where the plan is to cheer for both sides.

‘I am so happy and proud of Travis and the Chiefs’ accomplishments,’ she said on her Not Gonna Lie podcast.

‘I think that the opportunity to play for such a historic milestone [a Super Bowl three-peat] is incredible to be able to potentially witness. And I think that Travis has been there for his entire career, he has worked so hard and put in so much time that I am truly, as always, cheering Travis on. And I love him, he’s my family.  So I will always cheer on Travis’ accomplishments and hopefully successes.

‘That being said, I was raised to bleed green,’ she continued. ‘I have friends who are still ᴀssociated with the team. I have a close relationship with a lot of people in the Eagles organization. I get to live in the Philadelphia community. So I will also be cheering for the success of those people. Ultimately, the plan is to go the game and cheer.’

Kylie added that her and Jason’s three daughters will be sporting ‘Uncle Trav’ shirts to support their uncle as he and his teammates try to repeat as Super Bowl champions for the third straight year.

‘Any other week when I see Chiefs fans, I will tell them ‘go Chiefs,’ Kylie added. ‘I will not be saying that for the next two weeks. I can’t bring myself to do it because then it feels as though I’m actively wishing it against…. this is hard.’

Kylie’s words struck a similar tone to her husband Jason’s, as he also spoke earlier this week about his split loyalties for the big game.

‘Here’s the biggest thing. Obviously, you’re my brother. I always root for my brother. That’s the reality of it,’ he said to Travis in their latest episode of New Heights.

‘Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear, I’m always going to root for Travis. But there’s a lot of people in the Philadelphia organization, whether it’s players, coaches, people in the building that feel like extended family to me, especially my former lineman, like Lane Johnson feels like a brother in a lot of ways.

‘And I’m rooting for those guys too. I’m rooting for Philadelphia and I’m rooting for Travis Kelce. That’s the reality of it. No matter what on game day, I’m going to be happy for one of those sides and I’m going to be sad for the other side,’ he continued.

‘…So I would be lying if I said I wasn’t going to be very happy if the Chiefs or if the Eagles… I’m trying to think, I’m saying like double negatives right now. I’m trying to get this right. I would be lying if I said I don’t want the Eagles to win. You know what I mean?

‘I want them to, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. So, that’s a long-winded way of saying, I just want to see a good football game and whoever wins, I’m going to be happy for that guy.’

Two years ago, Jason and Travis squared off in Super Bowl LVII, with Kansas City eking out a 38-35 in an instant-classic clash.

Jason would play one more season before retiring after the 2023 season.

This time around, the Eagles and Chiefs will face off on Sunday, February 9 with Kansas City looking to make history.

The game will kick off at 6:30ET from the Superdome in New Orleans.
