Travis Kelce ‘loves’ being the villain as fans turn against Chiefs dynasty

It is a role Travis Kelce says he’s born to play.

While Kelce has become the toast of the celebrity world for dating Taylor Swift, NFL fans outside of Kansas City appear sick of the the тιԍнт end and his Chiefs always winning Super Bowls.

Fans and the media were quick to hop on controversies suggesting the Chiefs got favorable calls in two key spots during the 32-29 AFC Championship game win over the Bills on Sunday.

And on his “New Heights” podcast, brother Jason Kelce asked Travis if he liked being the villain.

“I love it. At one point in time it wasn’t (like) that,” Travis, 35, said on Wednesday’s podcast.

“I was the, ‘Do you feel bad for them guys.’ I’m enjoying doing this work with the guys we have in there because it makes us even more of a family. You just circle the wagons. When people are saying whatever they want, you’re just banded together and it just makes you appreciate more what you have because people want what you have.”

With Patrick Mahomes leading the way, the Chiefs have won three of the past five Super Bowls and have at least reached the conference championship in the other two seasons.

They have a chance to become the first NFL team to achieve a three-peat when they take on the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025.

“We don’t talk about it at all,” Kelce said of the three-peat discussion. “It hasn’t been mentioned one time outside of being asked about it in the media. Everybody in the building is just focused on doing their job. That’s how we got here… It’s the only way you win football games and reach the Super Bowl is focusing on the task at hand.”

The showdown is a rematch of the Chiefs’ 38-35 victory in the Super Bowl two years ago.

“We know Philly has the sour taste in their mouth from that one,” Kelce said. “They’re the best f–king team were gong to play all year. It’s going to be electric.”

Their ongoing dynasty has put a target on their back — much like the Patriots had during the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick run — while the Kelce-Swift relationship and the pop star’s presence on NFL broadcasts has frustrated some viewers.

Swift is expected to be in attendance for the Feb. 9 matchup in New Orleans, which will be aired on Fox.
