Bill Belichick gives Andy Reid precious advice as he bids to win historic three-peat with the Chiefs

Bill Belichick offered Andy Reid sound advice as he gears up for his third Super Bowl appearance in a row and fifth in six years.

The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from becoming the first team to threepeat with the Philadelphia Eagles standing in their way.

Before the big game, Reid spoke with the six-time Super Bowl champion about closing in on the feat in the Let’s Go podcast with Belichick and Jim Gray.

‘You don’t really think about all of that until the media asks you,’ Reid said. ‘You’re just in the grind, you’re trying to find the next first down, stopping the next team.

‘You’re so busy doing that that maybe you look back on it when you’re retired or so and you go, ‘Wow, that was something really special.’ But right now, you’re into the guys, you’re into the team, trying to make the right calls, and so on,’ he added.

Belichick then responded with pointers on how to handle the pressure in the brightest of stages.

‘That’s why you’re winning, Andy,’ Belichick said. ‘Don’t look back. Don’t look ahead. Just stay in the moment and keep winning. You’re doing a great job, just stay in the moment.’

Belichick got close to winning a threepeat with the Patriots, winning back-to-back тιтles in 2003 and 2004 before a divisional round exit in 2005.

Reid notched his 28th playoff win with the Chiefs after leading them to victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC тιтle game this past weekend. The victory placed him just three wins away from Belichick’s record 31 postseason triumphs – the most ever for an NFL coach.

The Chiefs coach also has six Super Bowl appearances to Belichick’s nine.

Furthermore, Reid is facing his former team having been the head coach for the Eagles between 1999-2012.
