Patrick Mahomes taunts his critics with perfect tweet after wife Brittany hit out at 'disgusting' abuse

Patrick Mahomes seized the chance to hit back at his taunting rivals following the Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory Sunday.

The quarterback led the Chiefs to their third consecutive Super Bowl with a narrow 32-29 win over their long-standing playoff rivals, the Buffalo Bills, at Arrowhead.

And it appears the postseason clash – the fourth in five years between the two teams – was personal for the signal caller.

Earlier in the season, Bills fans had resorted to shocking measures to mock Mahomes before Buffalo’s regular-season 30-21 win over the reigning Super Bowl champions at Orchard Park.

Member of Bills Mafia had strung up a Kermit the Frog doll – the iconic Muppets character that Mahomes has frequently claimed to resemble due to his voice – in his No. 15 jersey and signature mop of curls.

But after sending the Bills packing, Mahomes had the perfect response to their fanbase’s antics.

The three-time Super Bowl winner toasted the Chiefs’ championship win with a post on X, writing: ‘I’ll see y’all in New Orleans.’

He followed it up with the infamous GIF of Kermit sipping a cup of tea, referencing his link to the Muppets character.

Meanwhile, his wife Brittany, who gave birth to their third baby earlier this month, also took the chance to seek revenge on the Bills.

The mother-of-three shared the pH๏τo of Mahomes-version of Kermit being hung up to her Instagram story, adding: ‘Do we remember this Buffalo?

‘Absolutely disgusting… So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.’

The gesture from Bills fans caused controversy earlier in the season after many on social media were left shocked at the doll being strung up by a rope around its neck.

At the time, some NFL fans claimed there was an implied racism of the gesture due to Mahomes’ race with some suggesting it was reminiscent of the lynching of black people in American history.

There has been a long-standing rivalry between the Chiefs and Bills, with Mahomes and Kansas City now eliminating Buffalo from the playoffs in four of the last five years.

Mahomes celebrated reaching the Super Bowl with his nearest and dearest on Sunday night – just days after his grandfather was moved into a hospice.

It has been a tough few days for the Mahomes family, with the news about his maternal grandfather’s health arriving just days before the Chiefs fought it out with the Bills for a place in the Super Bowl.

After the game – and after the Chiefs had sealed progression to New Orleans next month – Mahomes was quick to come together with his family on the field.

In an emotional family moment, the quarterback posed with his mom Randi, wife Brittany – just days after she gave birth to their third child – dad Patrick Snr, brother Jackson and half-sister Mia.

The pH๏τo, which was posted by controversial figure Jackson, was accompanied by the caption ‘SUPERBOWL TIME!!!’ and includes red and yellow ticker tape floating in the background.
