Washington Commanders fans take over Philadelphia and chant 'Super Bowl' before NFC Championship

Washington Commanders fans are in confident spirits before Sunday’s blockbuster NFC showdown in Philadelphia, where a place in the Super Bowl is on the line.

Commanders fans appear to have turned out in force for Sunday’s game in the City of Brotherly Love against the Eagles, with videos circulating around social media of fans showing no fear of supporting their team in enemy territory.

One video showed famous Commanders fan ‘Tailgate Ted’ addressing fellow supporters on the night before the game in the Hard Rock Cafe, by saying: ‘F***ing represent! What we wanted to do tonight, we did. We took over this place. The entire restaurant!

‘We have been through 30 years of pain. Eat this up, you deserve this. Let’s Go!’

The video didn’t go unnoticed by Eagles fans, who responded by mocking him for ‘taking over’ a Hard Rock Cafe.

‘Bro you got a tourist restaurant, but you won’t get an nfc championship,’ read one of the replies. Another said: ‘Taking over hard rock is like eagles fans going to DC and taking over a Chillis.’

Unbelievable turnout in Philly‼️ (used to live here and they are NOT used to this)Thanks to @TailgateTed for amazing experienceTomorrow is gonna be a show #RaiseHail #HTTC pic.twitter.com/k1Xvy0nXBC

But Tailgate Ted and his friends weren’t the only fans out in force on Saturday night.

Another video showed fans in the streets of the city center chanting ‘Super Bowl’  outside a bar.

It’s only a 139-mile, two hour and 30 minute drive to get from Washington to Philadelphia, so plenty of fans will be expected to make the journey for the game.

The game pits rookie Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels against Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who heads into the game with concerns over a knee issue.

He appeared to hurt his knee in the third quarter in last week’s win over the Rams, finishing the game but moving awkwardly.

Earlier this week, Hurts said he could wear a knee brace for the game.

The Commanders stunned the Detroit Lions, the NFC’s No. 1 seed, 45-31 last week to move within a game of the Super Bowl.
