BREAKING NEWSNFL decides punishment for Texans star who shoved his own coach in shocking sideline meltdown

The NFL has slapped Texans star Kris Boyd with a hefty $8,000 fine after he shoved his own special teams coordinator on the sidelines last weekend.

The shocking moment occurred during the first quarter of Houston’s divisional round loss to the Chiefs at Arrowhead.

Boyd was caught on camera ripping his helmet off, storming to the sidelines and almost knocking special teams coach Ross to the ground.

His actions sparked fury from viewers with many fans calling for him to be immediately cut from the team, and while he has avoided that fate he has now been handed a stern punishment from the league.

In a tweet, NFL reporter Tom Pelissero said: ‘The NFL fined Texans BC Kris Boyd $8,056 for unsportsmanlike conduct.’

After the game, Boyd took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that he’s been receiving racist messages ‘every second’ since his shocking sideline incident.

He shared a screensH๏τ of a private message from an anonymous user, which read: ‘Stupid a** n****r.’

And he insisted that it wasn’t a one-off occasion as he wrote: ‘This been every second since last night up to today… Not looking for sincerity. God got me…’

‘The world is wicked, but I’ll be the example to still shine love and light no matter the circumstances… Adapt the ways of the spirit and christ. Not the flesh,’ he added, alongside two praying emojis.

The incident occurred just seconds into the playoff matchup following a 63-yard kickoff return to open the game.

Boyd tossed his helmet to the ground as he appeared to prematurely celebrate forcing a fumble on Nikko Remigio at the end of the play (the ball was actually recovered by the Chiefs).

Boyd’s helmet throw resulted in a 15-yard penalty being tacked onto the return, and he then shockingly shoved Ross after being berated by the special teams coach.

The defensive back continued yelling at Ross after pushing him, which led to the coach putting his hand on the player’s chest to calm him down.

Despite the Chiefs taking their first snap of the game at Houston’s 13-yard-line, the two-time defending champions were held to a field goal.

Following the game, which the Texans ultimately lost 23-14, Boyd incredibly claimed that the reason for his actions was solely because he ‘got too excited’, adding: ‘I did something I shouldn’t have.’

‘Learning from it,’ he added. ‘Keep my helmet on.’

Boyd then went on to claim he ‘loves Frank’ – referring to special teams coach Ross – and that the response was ‘not in his character’.

DeMeco Ryans said Boyd didn't push special teams coach Ross in a 'disrespectful manner'

DeMeco Ryans said Boyd didn’t push special teams coach Ross in a ‘disrespectful manner’

‘I love everybody here. I love my coaches. I never disrespect anybody. I apologized to everybody. [Ross] told me “Don’t worry about that”.’

After the game – and the end of the Texans’ season – head coach DeMeco Ryans claimed he didn’t see Boyd’s shove, but called his actions ‘silly’.

‘What I saw is we can’t come out on the first play and throw our helmet,’ he said. ‘That’s not what we teach. That’s not what we’re about at all.

‘It just puts the team in a negative light. To start the game, we give them a big return, we take our helmet off to add 15 more yards into the play, which is not smart football.’
