NFL fans freak out over 'creepy' Chiefs tribute on eve of Bills playoff game: 'Devil magic'

NFL fans have been left spooked by a ‘creepy’ tribute to the Chiefs ahead of their AFC Championship clash against the Bills.

Prior to the Chiefs’ 6:30pm ET kickoff against Buffalo on Sunday, a set of fountains was dyed red in downtown Kansas City.

The scene was captured by Buffalo News pH๏τojournalist Joshua BesSєx and posted to his X account before fans expressed how it unnerved them.

‘That is unsettling,’ one fan said.

‘The devil magic is already starting,’ another chimed in.

A third wrote: ‘It’s like leaving heads on spikes in medieval times, sends a message.’

‘Yeah, um, looks like someone was murdered in there,’ a fourth added.

And a fifth fan had a slightly different interpretation.

‘Another sign of the apocalypse. Bills wining the [Super Bowl],’ they predicted.

Despite the unsettled reactions of fans, it’s not the first time that fountains in Kansas City have been dyed red.

The same occurred ahead of the Chiefs’ season opener this past September.

And a fountain in downtown Kansas City was also dyed red ahead of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LV appearance in 2021.

Despite their 15-2 regular season record, the Chiefs weren’t quite at their best this year – at least on the offensive end.

Their +59 point differential was only the 11th-best in the league, and they only reached 30 points in a game on two occasions (one of which was in an overtime win vs. the Bucs).

Fans have also complained throughout the season that the Chiefs have been favored by referees.

‘I don’t feel that way,’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters in a press conference.

‘I just try to play football at the end of the day. The referees are doing their best to call the game as fair and as proper as they can and all you can do is go out there and play the game you love as hard as you can and live with the results.’
