NFL fans fear for Dallas Cowboys star Trevon Diggs after latest concerning injury setback

Cowboys star Trevon Diggs underwent knee surgery this week – and fans are not optimistic on his outlook for next season.

ESPN’s Todd Archer reported on Thursday that Diggs, who missed the last six games of this season with a knee injury, had ‘chondral tissue graft surgery’ to fix the issue. Diggs previously tore his ACL in the same knee in 2023.

And after Archer wrote that the recovery from the surgery could extend into training camp – and maybe longer – Dallas fans were sent into a tailspin.

‘Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse for us man,’ one wrote.

‘Had this done twice – BRUTAL surgery and rehab, knee never been the same. I’m no pro athlete but this is far from routine unlike the CL repairs. Good luck Trevon,’ another added.

A third said, ‘Dude is done … really the 1 season is all he has. Great season but it was obviously somewhat of a fluke. Definitely not an elite corner.’

And a fourth projected the Pro Bowl cornerback to miss the first four-to-six games of the season.

Others questioned why the Cowboys and Diggs waited until now to do the surgery, though Archer added that Dallas timed the procedure around the ‘growing of the graft.’

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ official website also offered a bleak forecast of the injury, as it was reported the team was ‘hopeful’ that Diggs can return ‘at some point’ next season.

Diggs has struggled to stay healthy since his Pro Bowl campaigns in 2021 and 2022.

In the former, he notched a league-leading 11 interceptions – two of which were returned for touchdowns.

He then signed a five-year, $97million deal with Dallas ahead of this season, with $33.3million guaranteed.

Despite his impressive pedigree, Diggs has played just a total of 13 games the last two seasons.
