Jason Kelce drops big Travis retirement hint on late-night ESPN show

Jason Kelce has suggested brother Travis could soon be hanging up his cleats as the Chiefs star prepares for a mᴀssive game this weekend.

Travis, 35, is seeking his third straight Super Bowl triumph with the Chiefs, with Kansas City set to host the Bills in the AFC Championship on Sunday.

And in speaking about his desire to watch both his brother and his beloved Eagles in the NFC Championship earlier in the day, Jason dropped a significant retirement hint about the тιԍнт end.

‘I’m kinda torn. I wanna be there for the Eagles, I also wanna be there for my brother, I don’t know how many more he has,’ Jason said on ‘They Call it Late Night.’

‘So we’re kind of flying by the seat of our pants. We might be able to see both of us here again hopefully.

Kelce’s comments came after a fan in the crowd asked about his plans for Sunday, with the Eagles playing at 3pm ET against the Commanders in Philly, and the Chiefs hosting Buffalo at 6:30pm.

Jason said he would be in Philadelphia for ESPN for the pregame tailgate, and added that he was ‘excited’ to return to his former franchise.

But he also said that he was ‘still trying to figure out’ his plans – leaving open the possibility that he could try and watch his brother as well.

Jason was in the stands during the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl last season, as he watched his brother beat Buffalo and Baltimore on the road.

In his 12th NFL season, Kelce registered his fewest receiving yards as a starter (823) since 2014, while his three touchdowns were his fewest since then as well.

However, he came up huge in Kansas City’s divisional round win over the Texans as he caught seven balls for a season-high 117 yards and a touchdown.

Prior to what could wind up being Kelce’s last game for the Chiefs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about the retirement speculation – but offered fans no ᴀssurances.

‘I have no idea,’ Mahomes told Kansas City’s 96.5 FM. ‘He hasn’t said anything to me if he’s thinking that.

‘I know he signed a two-year extension before the season and he seems like he still loves football, but he also has a great life as well,’ Mahomes continued. ‘Either way, I just appreciate every single time I step on the field with that guy, knowing he’s a true legend of not only the Chiefs, but the NFL. If it’s his last game, let’s go out there and get him a win. If it’s not his last game, let’s go out and win anyways, huh?’

Kelce has taken on a number of off-field projects in the entertainment world, including hosting  ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ for Amazon Prime and scoring a cameo role in Adam Sandler’s forthcoming ‘Happy Gilmore’ sequel.

For now, though, he’s focused on the Bills.
