Travis Kelce's ex-Chiefs teammate reveals his stunning gesture after he was late to Andy Reid's team meeting

With uncertainty in the air about his future plans beyond this current NFL season, current and former teammates Kansas City Chiefs star тιԍнт end Travis Kelce still sing his praises.

The тιԍнт end is set for his seventh consecutive AFC Championship game appearance this Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills as Kansas City hopes to reach the Super Bowl for a third consecutive season and the fifth time since 2019.

In a piece that highlights some of Kelce’s best moments and why his teammates appreciate him, ESPN’s Adam Teicher uncovered a story about the тιԍнт end willing to put his reputation on the line for one of his brothers on the field.

The story centers around a former Kansas City Chiefs running back, Charcandrick West – who spent six of his seven seasons in the NFL on the Chiefs.

As the story goes, Kansas City players all stay in a local H๏τel the night before each home game – with everyone required to arrive by a certain time, or else they’d pay a fine.

West was stuck in traffic on his way to the H๏τel and made the realization that he would not be able to make it to the facility at the required time.

With nowhere to turn, he called Kelce – who was already at the H๏τel and told West to get there as quickly as possible.

When West eventually arrived – several minutes late – he pulled up to the H๏τel to discover that Kelce was waiting for him out front.

‘He didn’t want me to be the only one to get into trouble for being late,’ West told ESPN.

West says that he wasn’t fined by the Chiefs for his tardiness, adding to ESPN, ‘I guess if you’re going to be late, you want to be late with Trav.’

When asked if he was fined, Kelce said, ‘I’ve been fined so many times for things that I can’t remember what they were for.’

But when it came to waiting outside for West, Kelce said, ‘Sometimes you just need somebody to be there with you even if you feel like you’re doing something wrong.’

It’s just one of many similar stories about Kelce’s demeanor in the locker room with his teammates that have earned him plaudits from those who have played alongside him.

Now, the three-time Super Bowl champion, four-time First-Team All-Pro, and ten-time Pro Bowler will look to add to his accolades with a victory on Sunday.
