Why the Giants’ offensive train wreck hasn’t kept Mike Kafka off the NFL coaching radar

What is going on with Mike Kafka?

A great deal, as is turns out.

The troubling downturn for the Giants and their offense the past two years seemingly has not touched or damaged Kafka’s reputation. He lost some standing and responsibilities, but it appears he is in high demand in NFL circles.

Kafka last week interviewed for the Saints’ head coach opening and clearly impressed those on the Zoom connection, as he was asked back for an in-person interview. That was supposed to take place Tuesday in New Orleans but there is a winter storm warning — yes, a blizzard in the Bayou — so Kafka’s trip was postponed to later in the week. Anthony Weaver, the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator, is another candidate asked back for an in-person interview with the Saints.
