NFL quarterback Drake Maye announces his engagement to childhood sweetheart

New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has announced his engagement to childhood sweetheart Ann Michael Hudson.

The pair have been dating for nine years and shared the news on their Instagram accounts.

‘Love doing life with you. Can’t wait to marry you!,’ the quarterback wrote in his post.

The couple celebrated their nine-year anniversary back in late October. Hudson marked the occasion with a slideshow posted to her Insta account.

‘9 years with you and it keeps getting better everyday,’ Hudson’s caption read with a heart emoji. ‘I couldn’t imagine my life with out you as my best friend. I love you more than you know!’

Maye and Hudson both met back in middle school, began dating then and through high school, and even attended the same college – the University of North Carolina.

Hudson is currently doing a double major at Chapel Hill, studying entrepreneurship and conflict management, according to her LinkedIn page.

Meanwhile, Maye left UNC after just three years there – bolting for the NFL where he was selected third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Patriots.

After then-head coach Jerod Mayo opted for veteran Jacoby Brissett under center for the first few games of the season, Mayo eventually handed the reins of the offense to Maye.

Maye compiled a record of 3-9 as he led New England’s struggling and underpowered offense that lacked skill at most key positions.

He finished his rookie campaign starting 12 games – completing 225 of 338 pᴀsses for 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
