Tom Brady’s ex-teammate gives awkward answer about his broadcasting ability

Tom Brady’s ex-Patriots teammate Vince Wilfork responded interestingly when asked about the former quarterback’s first season in broadcast.

Weeks away from wrapping up his first season calling NFL games for Fox Sports, Brady has faced much criticism with his time in the booth so far.

These sentiments were echoed when Wilfork joined Gregg Giannotti on WFAN Radio. When the host asked Wilfork what he thought of Brady’s broadcasting skills, he responded with an awkward silence before proceeding.

‘I don’t know,’ he said after staring at Giannotti.

‘I’ve never been stared at like that in my life,’ Giannotti noted while laughing. ‘Other than my wife.

Wilfork added: “I mean, he’s very knowledgeable of the game. Like that’s what it is. But I would rather him be my quarterback than on TV doing what he’s doing now. I love him for my quarterback.”

They then mentioned how Brady might call it quits with Fox Sports after the Super Bowl.

Despite signing a 10-year, $375million deal to become the network’s top NFL analyst, Brady’s part-ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders appears to present a potential problem with his broadcasting duties.

‘I heard there’s a lot going on with, you know, legally what he can and cannot do,’ Wilfork said.

The former nose tackle was drafted by the Patriots with the 21st pick in 2004. He remained in New England for the first ten years of his NFL career.

In 2015, he joined the Houston Texans, where he retired from football the following year with 560 tackles and 16.0 sacks.

The two-time Super Bowl winner and five-time Pro Bowler also forced five fumbles, made 12 recoveries, 27 deflections, three interceptions, and a defensive touchdown.
