Jimmy Butler is upping his efforts to get out of Miami.
The Heat superstar met with team president Pat Riley face-to-face last week to reiterate his desire to be traded away from the franchise, according to a report from ESPN.
The six-time NBA All-Star told Riley that he won’t sign an extension with the team and that he plans “to use his $52 million player option for 2025-26 in the offseason only as a trade maneuver,” per the World Wide Leader.
The meeting is the latest chapter in what has become a drawn-out saga between Butler and the Heat after five-plus seasons and two NBA Finals appearances together.
