Rams тιԍнт end Tyler Higbee hospitalized with injury after playoff win

Rams тιԍнт end Tyler Higbee was “stable” after being taken to a local hospital with a chest injury suffered in the 27-9 wild-card win over the Vikings on Monday in Glendale, Ariz., according to head coach Sean McVay.

“It was something with his chest,” McVay said. “I think he’s going to be OK. What does that mean in terms of his status moving forward? I don’t know.”

Higbee suffered his injury in the first half after catching five pᴀsses for 58 yards, including two pᴀsses for 27 yards to help the Rams take a 7-0 lead on their first drive.

He played just 12 snaps.

The Rams initially declared the veteran doubtful to return during the second quarter, before later downgrading him to out.

Monday’s game marked only Higbee’s fourth of the 2024 season, with the 2016 fourth-round pick entering the game with eight catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

He missed the first 15 weeks of the season after tearing his ACL and MCL last year, returning against the Jets in Week 16 and hauling in a touchdown catch.

Higbee seemed to be returning to form over the last two weeks, catching 12 pᴀsses for 104 yards and one touchdown.

With Higbee only playing limited snaps Monday, Cody Parkinson (33 snaps), Hunter Long (22 snaps) and Davis Allen (19 snaps) helped pick up the slack.

The тιԍнт turnaround for the Rams before their divisional-round game against the Eagles on Sunday in Philadelphia could make it tough for Higbee to suit up.

The Rams are 5.5-point underdogs at FanDuel against the NFC East champions.

The Eagles downed the Rams, 37-20, on the road in Week 12, which proved to be a turning point for Los Angeles’ season.

The Rams have not lost at full strength since that game, winning their next five games to win the NFC West before losing to the Seahawks while playing backups in Week 18.

Monday’s game was moved from Los Angeles to Glendale due to the LA fires.
