One of the Most Beautiful astonishing and brilliant statues of the righteous son of Egypt, the warrior king and the famous architect, King Ramesses II.
This amazing statue was made of black diorite, the same stone from which the famous statue of King Hafre was made, as well as the Rosetta Stone, which is an extremely hard igneous st0ne, its color ranging from gray to dark grey.
This statue represents a masterpiece of Egyptian sculpture. It represents him in a different image from the official royal bodies that were familiar before. It shows the king sitting on the throne, leaning his back on a column with inscriptions on it, wearing loose Egyptian clothing, and on his head is the blue crown, or the crown of khabarsh. (Helmet of combat and wår), and he holds the scepter of Haqqa (authority) in his hand, while wearing on his feet shoes with straps (sandals) with which he tramples the enemies of Egypt surrounding it, who are represented in the form of nine arches, confirming the king’s absolute dominance over Egypt and foreign countries..
To the right of the king, next to his lower leg, is a small statue of his favorite wife, Nefertari, with the words “Beloved by the Theban Goddess” written underneath, and on the left side is a small statue of his son, Amun-Harkhepshef.
The statue was made early in the reign of the Tawiliya (1279 – 1213 BC), in the era of the Egyptian Nineteenth Dynasty, of the New Kingdom. This statue is the most famous artifact in the Turin Museum, Italy, as this statue of Ramses represents the pride of the museum.
