Rams’ Demarcus Robinson faces DUI charge for November arrest

Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will be facing a criminal charge related to his November arrest for suspicion of DUI.

Robinson will be hit with one count of misdemeanor DUI, prosecutors told TMZ on Thursday.

The outlet also reported that he would be facing an infraction and that he is due in court next month for an arraignment.

The Rams receiver was stopped by California Highway Patrol in the hours after the Eagles had defeated Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium on Nov. 24.

Police said then that Robinson was driving over 100 mph, which triggered the stop, before presenting signs of being intoxicated.

“Officers observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment and Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence,” a CHP press release stated. “Robinson was cited and released to a responsible party.”

It had been reported at the time that Robinson also refused to submit to a field sobriety test on location.

Robinson was not suspended by the Rams for the team’s game the following week, and head coach Sean McVay said that what happened “doesn’t “make him a bad person.”

“I did appreciate his ability to acknowledge it to the team while also not minimizing or undermining the severity of what could have been,” McVay said. “And I do trust that he’s going to learn from it and I think it’ll be a good learning opportunity for our old football team. And that’s how we move forward.”

Robinson also apologized to his coach and teammates for his actions.

“I don’t want to bring that type of light or any type of negative energy towards the team,” Robinson said. “I just told him I sincerely apologize to him and the team and this whole organization for even putting myself and the organization in a predicament like that.”
