Vikings lineman Dalton Risner's wife says she was 'heckled, touched and called names' by Lions fans in Detroit

Whitney Risner, the wife of Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Dalton Risner, was apprehensive about attending Sunday night’s game in Detroit.

As she explained on TikTok while revealing her outfit for the game, Whitney was targeted by the Lions faithful in 2023 due to her purple ensemble.

‘Last year, I wore a flashy purple jacket, and I’ve never been heckled so much at an away game,’ she said on TikTok before Sunday’s loss to the Lions.

Unfortunately for Whitney, things weren’t any better on Sunday night in Detroit, where she was once again tormented by attendees.

‘Little did I know that I would be heckled, touched and called names at last night’s game by Detroit fans (Simply for being Vikings fans),’ read a graphic from the TikTok video, which she added after Sunday’s loss.

And she’s apparently not alone.

Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman’s girlfriend Taylor Saunders responded to the Whitney’s TikTok post, writing that Lions fans were ‘wishing injuries on the opposing players.’

Another Vikings fan added that she had ‘the WORST experience at Ford Field.’

‘Men hitting my shoulder pads, one took my horns off my head, one acted like he was going to punch me in the face,’ the woman wrote.

Many Lions fans apologized to Whitney, while a few more offered some perspective on her experience.

‘I grew up a Vikings fan until 2008 when I went to a game and watched a Vikings fan push a packers fan down the stairs,’ one woman wrote. ‘Gave up on the Vikings then. Bad fans are everywhere.’

Responders did agree on one thing: Whitney’s custom Vikings ensemble for Sunday’s game was a win.

‘That top is so cute and fits you so well,’ one commenter wrote.

‘Not to be dramatic or anything BUT I NEED THAT SHIRT,’ another added.

A product of Wiggins, Colorado, Dalton has started eight games this season and 81 over his six-year career with the Vikings and Denver Broncos.

The former Kansas State star married Whitney in 2022.

By virtue of Sunday’s loss, the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings will play the Rams in Los Angeles on Monday night in the Wildcard Round of the NFL playoffs.

The NFC North-champion Lions, meanwhile, get a first-round bye.
