NFL fans left stunned by Jerry Jones' acting performance in Landman

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones appeared in a recent episode of ‘Landman’ – and fans are hugely impressed with his acting.

Jones, 82, appeared in the scene alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm, with the latter seen sitting in a hospital bed with tubes running near his nose.

The longtime Cowboys owner – playing the role of himself – delivered a stirring two-minute monologue about how he involved his children with the franchise and his other business endeavors.

‘You’re gonna be sitting here sometime in the future, laying here sometime in the future… and more than likely your children and family are gonna be there because they’re your children and your family,’ he said to Hamm’s character.

‘But you could have them there because they’re the people you spent your life with.’

Fans were quick to praise Jones’ acting in the scene, with a clip of the sequence nearing 600,000 views on X at the time of writing.

‘Jerry Jones, being a decent actor, was not on my bingo card,’ one wrote.

‘That was genuinely a great speech he gave. A lot of wisdom,’ another added.

‘He was really good! Very surprised!, a third added.

Other fans were less stunned to see Jones excel at acting.

‘He’s been pretending to be a good GM for over 30 years,’ one cracked.

‘This is no surprise to anyone who has watched his postgame or radio interviews,’ another said. ‘Mr. Jones is an entertainer first and foremost. You already know he tells the best stories.

While his role in ‘Landman’ represented Jones’ first acting foray in over a decade, he actually has five other acting credits to his name.

As per IMDb, he appeared in ‘The League’ in 2012, two episodes of ‘Entourage’ in 2010 and three episodes of ‘Arli$$’ from 1996-2000.

Jones also appeared in an episode of ‘Coach’ in 1996 and ‘Cubed’ in 2011.

On the field, it was a difficult season for Jones and the Cowboys as quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in November and the team stumbled to a 7-10 finish.

Following a loss to the Commanders in the final game of the regular season on Sunday, Jones stopped short of committing to head coach Mike McCarthy for next season and beyond.

McCarthy, who has a 49-35 record with Dallas, is currently set to be out of contract on January 14.
