How do you determine who is the best at a particular task? Do you use a single, most important metric, then declare whoever is best at that thing the best at everything? Or do you weigh multiple factors before making a decision?
Of course, the Madman likes multiple factors. The more data used, the better the chance at arriving at the right pick. Plus, the more factors you weigh, the more complicated the process, the more interesting it becomes.
So how many variables did we use to determine our fantasy MVPs? Enough to make us confident in our decisions, but not enough to make analyzing the process that much fun — think one tablespoon of points scored, one tablespoon of positional value, one teaspoon of draft cost, a pinch of weekly volatility with a sprinkle of unquantifiable subjectively.
When we mix all those ingredients and let them sit and settle, it produces a delicious serving of Ja’Marr Chase.
