I’m A Celebrity winner Danny Jones has spilled the beans on the alarming steps the production crew go through to keep the secrets of the camp under wraps.
The McFly star, 38, was crowned the winner during Sunday’s final after surviving for three weeks in the Australian jungle.
But while fans watched the singer and his fellow campmates’ antics closely on the ITV show, there are some elements of the programme that didn’t make it to screens.
Following his stint on the show, Danny spoke to his fellow McFly rocker Harry Judd during the drummer’s BINGE! Podcast with Alex Jones.
And Danny revealed a surprising secret about camp life that viewers perhaps didn’t know.
Danny told how campmates had their vision obscured whenever they left the camp to do trials or challenges, no doubt in a bid to keep the route and surroundings undisclosed.

Detailing the experience, Danny shared: ‘The crew were amazing. It’s a really big plot of land you’re in. When you go for a trial or a challenge or Deals On Wheels, you get in a van, it’s blacked out, you have a towel over your head…
‘It’s almost like SAS! You get captured almost. It’s all like the psychology of it, of not letting you leave the camp, that’s what it’s about. ‘
Danny then explained that bosses employed the same tactic when the campmates’ loved ones paid them a visit in the jungle, so that it was a huge surprise for them.
He said: ‘On that day I thought it was a challenge. The guys said to me “just walk through the bushes mate and read the laminate and I was like “OK cool”.’
‘I walked through the bushes and my family were there, it was like the best surprise I’ve had in my whole life. Unbelievable.’
Meanwhile, Danny opened up on the weight loss he had during his jungle stint following a three-week diet of rice and beans.
Harry informed him: ‘You looked absolutely ripped, that was one bonus, you were looking great
To which he replied: ‘Thanks man, I lost a bit of weight, I lost about 5 kilos.’

And it wasn’t just the weather that made the experience uncomfortable.
The McFly star revealed everyone was forced to battle leeches and the critters became such a nuisance, Danny was forced to make sure no one was suffering with them.
He explained: ‘It was one of the hardest nights, we were all quite cramped and I think there were still 12 of us then as well, all boiling-H๏τ in close proximity. The rain also meant the leeches were searching for you and I was literally on leech check every day.’
