Stephen Mulhern shares his ‘utter joy’ at working with Holly Willoughby again on new ITV challenge show You Bet! after his shock collapse

Stephen Mulhern shared his ‘complete and utter joy’ at getting to work with Holly Willoughby again on their new show, You Bet!

The presenter, 47, has joined forces with his Dancing On Ice co-host, 43, to front the epic revamped game show, which premieres on ITV on Saturday night.

You Bet! was a popular quiz show originally hosted by Bruce Forsyth and then Matthew Kelly for 10 series in the 1980s and1990s.

Stephen – who is recovering after collapsing in Pizza Express earlier this month – said it’s a ‘treat’ to reunite with Holly, who he has been presenting alongside for almost two decades after they started out in children’s TV together.

‘Having Holly by my side is just a complete and utter joy because obviously we’ve worked together on so many shows over the years,’ he told The Sun’s TV Mag.

‘We’re such good friends, and similarly to Dancing on Ice, which we both love, we react to each other, we support each other, and more importantly, we support the contestants.’

‘I think we just know each other inside out. We enjoy each other’s company and I just love her to bits.’

You Bet! is billed as the new Saturday night entertainment show in which a group of ordinary people take on jaw-dropping challenges.

Featuring a star-studded panel including comedian Rob Beckett, Alison Hammond and Olly Murs, for each challenge the celebrities and studio audience must bet if the challengers can do it.

And the stakes couldn’t be higher because the audience’s favourite challenger of the night will win a mᴀssive £10,000 – whilst the losing celebrity must take part in the dreaded forfeit finale.

The jam-packed trailer for the show was filled with climbing, cycling, fire, diggers, licking cactus’s and even a goat.

One contestant bet that he could use his digger to set off three fireworks whilst doing a wheelie as he confessed being on the show felt like being ‘on the set of a major movie in Hollywood’.

Another claimed he could deliver four takeaway food packages on his bike faster than a delivery drone, while a couple bet they could name any of their goats, just by looking at a part of their body.

Discussing his excitement about the show, Stephen previously said: ‘Every time I’ve ever been asked if there was a show that I could ever bring back, I’ve always said You Bet!’

He went on: ‘So now is the chance for younger viewers who have never seen the show before to enjoy it and the older audience to reminisce and also see the show being brought up to date.’

The Deal Or No Deal host sparked concern among fans earlier this month when he collapsed at a Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berkshire.

He suffered a reaction to anaesthetic he had earlier in the day while having a drink at the Italian chain, with staff calling an ambulance for him.

The incident came weeks after his father Christopher died.

A spokesperson for Stephen told MailOnline: ‘Stephen has had an incredibly tough time over the past few weeks.

‘His beloved father recently pᴀssed away which has hit him hard and has been understandably very stressful.’

Following his father’s death, he ‘stepped down from hosting ITV’s The Big Soap Quiz,’ with Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay taking over.

Stephen suffered another blow after his beloved ITV show In For A Penny was axed in July.

According to The Mirror, a shock decision meant his own fan-favourite Saturday night gameshow has been shelved after six series – but bosses haven’t ruled out a potential return and suggested that it may have just been temporarily paused.
