Soon, they are working hard to get the men of Walford camera ready – starting with market trader Shrimpy who, of course, leaves his hat on!

2. Drunk Linda’s ding dongs

With Linda’s drinking out of control, young Ollie is becoming fearful of his mum. 

Later, Johnny watches a drunk Linda throw some punters out of the Vic and confronts her on how her drinking is affecting her son. 

Linda doesn’t want to listen and after losing her temper at Johnny, she packs a bag and leaves to live at Sharon’s.

3. Sharon steps in

Sharon promises to help Johnny by sorting Linda out. 

She gives her friend a dressing down, but after a nasty encounter with Bernie, Linda hits the bottle once more. 

Linda then argues with Alfie when he won’t serve her booze in the shop, leaving her friend deeply concerned.

4. Martin’s peace mission

Martin is overcome with worry over little Roman, especially as Ruby continues to push him away. 

When Ruby arrives to tell him about a change in his son’s condition, Martin ends up losing his cool. 

After thinking things over, Martin heads to the hospital to try and make peace with Ruby for the sake of their son.

5. Nicola plots against Sharon

Nicola reopens the club, which she’s named Harry’s Barn, but her joy is short-lived after Teddy tells her that he and Sharon are going to make a go of things. 

Soon, Nicola is seeking out Phil, hoping he’ll help her put a spanner in the works. 

However, at Phil’s home, she’s shocked by what she finds, and wastes no time in telling Sharon.

6. Break-in drama

A worried Alfie reports to Johnny about Linda’s behaviour. 

When Alfie then goes to Sharon’s to check on Linda, he discovers that the place has been broken into after a drunk Linda left the door open.

Sharon is horrified to return home and see the carnage.

7. Nicola makes her move

Nicola continues to stir between Teddy and Sharon. 

She tells Teddy she’s changed and wants to put their marriage back together.

Pushing forward with her plan, Nicola goes to visit Phil again, clearly scheming.

8. Sharon and Phil fight back

Sharon is incensed by Nicola’s stirring and she and Phil confront her before revealing to Teddy what Nicola’s been up to. 

After the showdown, however, Phil feels more isolated from the other Mitchells than ever. 

When Jay later pops over to check on Phil, it’s clear that he’s not in the mood for talking.

9. Hope for Linda?

Linda’s behaviour continues to see her push away her loved ones as she clashes with Sharon, Alfie and Johnny. 

Recovering alcoholics Phil and Lauren come to her rescue and offer to go with her to a meeting.

10. Ian’s Christmas cheer

Ian is in his element as gets the Beale’s Eels Santa float ready. 

He excitedly presents the family with their outfits, and he enjoys lording over the rest of the Square in his role as Santa. 

Cindy, however, misses the event to take up an enticing offer from Junior…

11. Lauren’s big decision

With Lauren out of sorts, Peter goes to check on her. 

Lauren tries to brush his concerns away, blaming it on the pregnancy.

12. Can Elaine take control?

Elaine returns from her honeymoon and is upset to discover from the locals what has been happening with Linda. 

She resolves to get her daughter back on the straight and narrow.

Kim is in charge of the Christmas Eve carol concert but is struggling to get a choir together
