Tilda Swinton made sure all eyes were on her as she attended the Chanel and Cinema – Tokyo Lights pH๏τocall in Japan on Thursday.

The actress, 64, who is an ambᴀssador for the fashion brand, looked incredible in a black satin co-od featuring tulle detailing.

The stunning look consisted of a black blouse and wide-leg trousers which she teamed with a pair of platform suede boots.

Her ice blonde hair was slicked back off her face and she sported a swipe of red lipstick.

The beauty appeared in good spirits as she posed for snaps before entering the glamorous event. 

She was also joined by Hiroya Shimizu, Natsuki Deguchi, Nana Komatsu, Hirokazu Kore-eda and Sakura And.

Chanel launched the new programme to strengthen its connection to cinema by partnering up with acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda.

The director hosted series of talks on November 28 at the Okuma auditorium at Waseda University aimed at aspiring filmmakers.

The workshop showed young filmmakers the ins and outs of the entertainment industry and gave them an opportunity to participate in a short film compeтιтion.  

Speaking of the project, Hirokazu said: ‘I was looking for a collaborative partner to nurture the young talents in the film industry for the next ten or twenty years. We are working collaboratively with CHANEL on a programme to offer a space for new encounters. This project will be very exciting.’

Chanel will sponsor the three selected films and will showcase them in Tokyo and Paris.

It comes after Tilda teased retirement as she promoted her latest film The Room Next Door.

The actress, who is stars in the movie with Julianne Moore, also 64, told Elle: ‘I’ve always intended that each film would be my final one.’

She stars as a war correspondent diagnosed with stage three cancer in the drama directed and co-written by Pedro Almodóvar.

Her character, Martha, reconnects with Moore’s Ingrid after years apart with a special request as she approaches death. 

The movie won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and is considered a serious contender for the upcoming Hollywood awards season.Swinton explained why she approaches each project as her last. ‘It was not wanting to jinx anything because I have had such fun from start to finish,’ she told the outlet.

‘I always thought, ‘Well, that’s a good one to go out on. Let’s just quit while we’re ahead.’ And I feel it today. I feel The Room Next Door is the last film I make.’

‘Let’s see if anything else happens,’ she said.

Something did happen. Swinton recently wrapped work on The Ballad of a Small Player.

It’s a psychological drama co-starring Colin Farrell and Fala Chen.

She also stars in another film, The End, as the mother of a wealthy family living in a salt mine, who have their lives upended when they encounter a stranger.

Swinton credited her longevity in the movie business to her ability to make a family with her co-workers.

‘I’m really grateful, because I don’t know that if I hadn’t continued to find these families, if I would be interested in working,’ she told the publication.

‘I don’t think of myself as an industrial animal at all, you know, the way in which industry tends to divide people up and tends to concentrate on individual skills. My skill, if I have anything, is finding collaborators.’

The versatile actress who joined the Marvel universe via 2016’s Dr. Strange and again in 2019’s Avengers: End Game, which seems to have increased her popularity with younger moviegoers.

The Oscar winner was ‘doing a night shoot (in Mexico) and all these street kids came up and flocked around me, because they’d seen the [first] Narnia film. And I thought, ‘How amazing.”

‘Maybe Marvel fans will come and see an Almodóvar film,’ she suggested.

The Room Next Door opens in theaters December 20. The End makes its debut December 6 and goes wide December 13.
