David Beckham knows how to get his heart – and everyone else’s – pumping in the morning.
The former professional soccer player, 49, showed off his super-toned physique in a new pH๏τo posted via Instagram on Monday, November 25, which was taken by wife Victoria Beckham, who joined him for his workout.
“Good morning workout 🏋️ with my wife & her 📷 @victoriabeckham 🩷,” David captioned the steamy snap, in which he could be seen flaunting his six-pack while sitting at an exercise machine wearing nothing but a pair of workout shorts.
Followers couldn’t help but marvel at the Manchester United alum’s build, with many social media users commenting with fire emojis on his post. Another joked, “Posh, doing her bit for humanity!” while a separate user echoed, “Victoria doing God’s bit per usual.”
David and Victoria, 50, first crossed paths in early 1997 while attending a charity football match at the Manchester United players’ lounge. One year later, the former Spice Girl announced their engagement during a press conference, and the pair tied the knot in July 1999 – just four months after welcoming their first son, Brooklyn, now 25, in March that year.
The duo went on to welcome sons Romeo, 22, in 2002 and Cruz, 19, in 2005. They welcomed their first and only daughter, Harper, 13, in 2011.
“Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family,” family rep, Jo Milloy, told Us Weekly at the time.
Shortly after completing their family, David announced his retirement from soccer after 21 years as a pro in May 2013. In Netflix’s four-part docuseries, Beckham, which premiered in October 2023, David elaborated on his decision to step away from the sport, explaining that the grueling physical demand became too much for him.
“I think I loved the game more than anyone has ever loved it. That’s what I think. I know it’s not true, but I think that I loved the game more than anyone. But I felt different. My body felt different. I was waking up after games, I felt beaten up,” he said. “I felt every time that I was getting out of bed, I was aching, I was hurting. I’d roll out of bed in the mornings because I just was in so much pain. So coming to that decision, it was actually a really tough one.”

In that same docuseries – which explored David’s rise to soccer stardom, his lengthy career and his relationship and family life with Victoria – the longtime couple opened up about the infidelity rumors they faced early on in their marriage. At the time, models Rebecca Loos and Sarah Marbeck claimed they each had affairs with him. David denied the rumors with a public statement in 2003.
“It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life,” Victoria explained, describing how she “internalized” the trauma for the sake of her husband. “It wasn’t that I felt unheard because I was always mindful of the focus that he needed.”
David added, “I think we both felt at the time that we were not losing each other, but growing. I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty. Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for. But ultimately, it is our private life.”
