Andy Whyment branded I’m A Celeb’s Dean McCullough ‘disrespectful’ in a furious rant on Monday morning’s Lorraine.

The Coronation Street actor, 43, said he felt Dean spoke to his Corrie co-star Alan Halsall ‘like a child’ during Saturday night’s episode.

Tension boiled between the pair after Dean, 32, neglected his chores and took a nap – which rubbed Alan, 42, up the wrong way.

Feeling the need to back his fellow actor, Andy told Lorraine: ‘The bit that got me was when he was in the Bush telegraph and basically said “I was asleep and wee Tyrone from Coronation Street is standing over me”.

‘I just thought that was a bit disrespectful. Al’s a 42-year-old man and the way Dean was speaking to him was a bit like a child.’

After leaving Loose Women’s Jane Moore to collect firewood alone, an infuriated Alan decided to wake his campmate, who barely stirred.

‘You don’t fancy it? No?’ the soap star asked, before traipsing off to help Jane himself after she confessed: ‘I can’t do it on my own’.

Dean then later joined them and told Alan ‘You can go back now’, before the actor explained: ‘I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could.’

Dean then hit back: ‘Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? 

‘It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say “Do you not fancy it, Okay?” And then turn around and walk away.’

‘I’ve listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went’, Alan replied as the pair got into a heated back and forth. 

He also revealed the adorable sign Alan gives his daughter Sienna when the cameras go into camp in the morning.

Andy said: ‘Every time they [Ant and Dec] say Alan, he always goes like that [puts up a heart sign with his hands].

‘It’s just a sign to Sienna because obviously he has his daughter fifty percent of the time and I know he’s really, really missing her.’

Alan’s ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson broke her silence after he opened up about their divorce in camp.

The actor divorced his former Coronation Street co-star, who played Katy Harris, in 2018, and together they share 11-year-old daughter Sienna-Rae.

After Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, revealed he was now ‘more than content being single’ Lucy-Jo took to Instagram with a video message to her followers.

She said: ‘Just wanted to put the record straight. First of all, me and my ex have been divorced seven years. I actually can’t believe it’s a topic of conversation because it’s pretty boring.

‘We share Sienna 50/50. We communicate. She’s a happy kid. We get on great. We have to work out weekends – what we’re swapping, certain days he wants, certain days I want’.

‘We’re constantly communicating because it’s important for Sienna and to plan what we’re doing. We don’t want her missing out so we change things for each other.’

She went on to say: ‘Second of all, myself and [Partner Lewis Devine] will be sat down with Sienna watching the jungle. We wish him nothing but the best.’

‘We are going to be there for Sienna supporting her throughout this journey because, yes, she’s going to miss her dad. He’s in her life all the time, so this is quite a strange thing.’

During Tuesday’s I’m A Celeb Alan told Dean McCullough about his split, Alan said: ‘Lucy left Corrie in about 2005, then we got married in 2009. We then split up after Sienna was born.

‘I love what I’ve got, even now I’m on my own, I love it when it’s me and Sienna and that’ll change I’m sure, that’ll be different at some point but I’ve never done dating apps.’

Lucy-Jo and Alan split after nearly nine years of marriage; it was revealed that she’d embarked on a relationship with Lewis Devine just two months later, together they now share son Carter, three. 

However, she didn’t go public with her romance until October of that year, taking to Instagram to share a gushing post dedicated to her boyfriend, with whom she shared the stage in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs pantomime in 2017.
